If there was ever a District "Perseverance Award" it would be awarded to the Lamesa Rotary Club. When they made the commitment to the community to provide these scholarships in perpetuity, the required endowment was projected to be much less that what is now required with lower interest rates. Rotarians finish what they start and the much larger required endowment has not diminished Lamesa Rotary's focus and they are nearing their goal and I am proud of their resolve and commitment to literacy.
